$150/month for personal weekly mental wellness coaching through text and e-mail exchange
Sometimes it’s easier to type out your thoughts, struggles, and feelings during that middle of the night feeding. I want to overcome obstacles and provide a method through which I can engage personally with individuals who are looking for support and coaching so he or she can thrive emotionally during the postpartum season. This is not an appropriate service for individuals who have been diagnosed with a PMAD and who are not in treatment, it is a supplemental service that is solution-focused and will aim to overcome problems through solutions presented in email format. This client can expect to receive one to two emails a week and live text messaging as needed during the day. When it comes to problems involving lactation, sleep, medical issues, supplements and nutrition, I will refer you to a specialist I trust in your local area.

Home-based, Out-and-About, and Virtual Counseling Services
Getting out of the house as a new parent is hard enough. For parents struggling with mood and anxiety disorders, the stress of leaving is often compounded. Let me come to you and provide counseling services. No need to shower, clean, or put on a show. Let me come sit with you in the messy season and help you discover your beauty and resilience that can often go unseen amidst the growing pains.
If desired, during my time with you, I will work with you to make subtle changes around your home that may expand your capacity to enjoy life and embrace the beauty of this season in new ways. Sometimes it just takes creative problem solving, nursery additions, adjusting some furniture, opening up spaces, and bringing in more light to enhance the energy of a home.
I am also happy to meet you at a local park to walk, or at a coffee shop. Sometimes getting out of the house and breathing some fresh air can be therapeutic in and of itself.
Office-based Counseling Services
Fresh air and other adults can bring all sorts of refreshment to the weary mama and daddy soul. Let me know if coming to me is a better fit for your needs at this time, and I will be at the office to offer a listening ear. **Please note that all first sessions occur in the office so that we can get to know one another.**
Babies are welcome to join for the first few sessions, though our work together may be compromised by the presence of toddlers or older children. I ask that after our second session you work to attain childcare during our sessions.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
EMDR is a psychotherapy that activates the natural healing process of the brain in response to a traumatic or disturbing event, an unwanted habit or annoyance, some non-organic sensory issues, as well as grief and loss. EMDR uses a specific protocol learned throughout training to move memories from an unhelpful state to a more functional and helpful existence in the brain. The goal would be to move a bothersome event or issue from a disturbing state to a state that serves as helpful and realistic information to guide present behaviors and feelings. The way the therapist helps to elicit the brain’s natural healing process is by causing bilateral stimulation through the use of eye movements, tapping, buzzers, and/or auditory tools. The application of bilateral movement in conjunction with a specific order of processing activates the brain stem, the prefrontal cortex, and uses both the right and left side of the brain simultaneously. Through the activation of the brain in this very specific process, we have found clients receive enormous benefits after just 2-3 sessions. EMDR is not hypnosis as the client is fully awake and conscious and is in full control of the entire session. Not all clients are ready for EMDR, but nearly all individuals can benefit from the overall framework provided by EMDR psychotherapy. Ask me if you are interested in this sort of intervention and we can discuss whether it may be a good fit for you!

Support Person Services
Are you a support person of someone battling postpartum depression or anxiety? Sometimes you may want to scream, “snap out of it! There’s a baby depending on you.” I hope you know, she or he would have done so by now if that was possible. I would love the opportunity to help you access the information and strategies you need to support the parent in distress
Individual or Couple Postpartum Planning Consultation
Similar to how we plan a wedding while forgetting to focus on the marriage, we often move through pregnancy with a strong focus on the birth and a lack of regard for the postpartum period. Let me help you close gaps in advance, come up with a plan that honors this beautiful life transition and creates margin for individual and relational needs that may arise during the postpartum period. Postpartum planning is most efficient with both partners present.
Postpartum Wellness Course
Many parents attend birthing classes, but few arm themselves for the challenges that may arise postpartum. The relational dynamics and often unforeseen feelings that can surface during this delicate time deserve attention and preparation. Let me help you live life to the fullest during this season by offering education and practical tools to equip you to not just survive, but to thrive during this special time.
